Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My name is Angela W-Maragh and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. It is not easy for Clients to make the choice on seeking help, to share their story and to trust someone they do not know so I take pride in offering a welcoming, supportive environment prepared to build a trusting and therapeutic atmosphere/relationship where clients can feel comfortable sharing their story, working through and achieving desired goals. I explain what the initial session/current will be like and what they can look forward to in future sessions. I will let you, the client know that it is your time and that the goal set is yours. I incorporate counseling theories base on the client's desired goals understanding that they know their story and am willing to listen be non-judgmental and supportive in aiding the client to, again, reach their desired goals/progress. In the first session provider will also talk with client about reviewing their progress and if they believe they are not making progress will discuss and make needed adjustment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy to work with military trauma. I have also spent over twenty years working with civilians experiencing depression, anxiety, anger management and life stressors. I will use several type of therapy to include Behavioral, Problem Solving and Solution Focus.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adult clients and don't have a lot of training working with children. I find that adults are easier to work with due to level of maturity. I also believe it is best for younger children to do face-to-face therapy. It is not easy for me to do play therapy or work with children on-line. Some children are not easily acclimated to on-line therapy and is easily distracted. Base on my religious belief I prefer working with male or female client. I believe that each person is entitled to make their own choice in who or what they want to be and I have worked with non-binary and gender fluid in the past with no problem and have been success with treatment, but at this point prefer to work with male and female.
