I am a Christian clinical psychologist, and I specialize in helping people recover from traumatic events that have negatively impacted their lives. My hope is that my clients will feel unconditionally supported and accepted throughout this process. I have experience working with a wide variety of people, but have spent the majority of my practice working with veteran and first responder populations to address lifespan PTSD. I look forward to working with you to improve the quality of life that you may feel has been lost to trauma. My approach to therapy is to offer my clients a collaborative and therapeutic relationship in order to comfortably share the memories from, in most cases, the worst day of their lives. I offer CPT, PE, EMDR, COPE, NET, WET, AD-E and CBCT, in order to target the primary symptoms of PTSD most prominently, negative beliefs and avoidant behaviors. Taking that first step to recovery from a past traumatic experience can be scary. I am here to walk beside you as you regain the life that trauma has stolen from you.
I use a shared decision model to determine best fit for therapy. Together we will decide, based on your symptoms, which treatment will be most beneficial for you. Most of my clients choose between EMDR, CPT, and PE; these are gold star treatments for PTSD. During our first session, we will discuss your goals and treatment options to help you make the most informed decision as the first steps toward healing.
As a trauma psychologist, my clients would describe me as being warm, accepting, empathetic, and trusting. I work hard to help support those who have been through traumatic experiences find recovery. I see clients on a weekly basis and have found that this weekly dosage of treatment over a 3 month period of time allow my clients to see improvement in symptoms and many will find recovery and healing within this time frame.
Are you struggling with PTSD, intrusive memories, avoidance, hypervigilance, or emotional numbness after a traumatic experience? I specialize in working with veterans, first responders, and adults across Indiana and Illinois impacted by trauma. If you feel stuck reliving the past or disconnected from the life you once had, healing is possible with the right support and evidence-based treatment. Along the journey to healing, comorbid conditions such as panic disorder, addiction, dysregulated emotions (fear, anger, guilt, shame), and grief & loss are addressed as secondary conditions to PTSD.
