Hello, I’m James. Anxiety, stress, anger, relationship strain, and major life changes can make even capable people feel stuck, frustrated, or disconnected from the life they want to be living. My work focuses on helping adults better understand what is happening internally, develop practical coping skills, and make meaningful changes that hold up outside of the therapy session. I specialize in working with anxiety, stress, anger management, stress, coping skills, men’s issues, Veterans’ issues and life transitions. Many of my clients are people who are used to handling things on their own but have reached a point where they want something to change. I offer a direct, supportive, and goal-focused approach that helps clients identify patterns, manage emotions more effectively, improve communication, and respond to challenges with more clarity and control. Therapy with me is practical and collaborative. We will work together to understand what is keeping you stuck, build tools that fit your life, and create realistic steps toward feeling more steady, confident, and in control. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, irritability, relationship stress, work pressure, military or Veteran-related concerns, or a difficult life transition, you do not have to figure it out alone. In our first session together, we will cover the basics of the therapeutic relationship. We'll assess the issues that you face and formalize a basic treatment plan to address those issues. Finally, I'll provide you with some psych-education and tools that you can begin to use immediately to alleviate your symptoms.
I have a strong background in evidence-based therapies, and I integrate various modalities to ensure a comprehensive and effective approach to treatment. Mindfulness practices, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and positive psychology are just a few of the tools I use to guide my clients toward positive change and personal growth. Moreover, my passion for incorporating creative methods, such as art therapy and journaling, into our sessions allows for deeper exploration and self-expression. This innovative approach often leads to profound breakthroughs, helping my clients gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and experiences.
