Hi there! I’m a licensed therapist based in California, offering virtual sessions to help you navigate challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. My journey into mental health was shaped by my own experiences growing up. As a child, I struggled with learning and often saw the world in black-and-white terms. Working with a school counselor taught me to organize my thoughts, and in doing so, I became curious about my own distorted thinking. By reframing those thoughts, I noticed that life felt more manageable. That experience sparked my passion for helping others find clarity in their own lives. As I grew older, I realized that rigid thinking wasn’t sustainable. Instead, I learned to embrace balance, define my values, and create a life that aligned with what truly mattered to me. Now, I love working with curious, engaged clients who are ready to explore and improve their lives. With a background in schools and community mental health, I create a compassionate, judgment-free space where we can work through your challenges together. You might even get a quick visit from my two golden doodles, Cuppy and Cookie, who love popping by during sessions! Outside of work, I enjoy savoring loose-leaf tea, listening to financial podcasts (because finances and mental health often go hand in hand), and spending quality time with my nieces and nephews.
In our first session, we’ll go over some basic therapy policies and I’ll walk you through what you can expect from our work together. I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have. I understand that starting with a new therapist can feel intimidating, especially since we’re just meeting, so I make sure to address everything upfront to help you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible. Our sessions are virtual and designed to be both casual and intentional, creating a safe and open space for deeper self-discovery and meaningful growth. We’ll begin exploring insights and start building the tools you need to make lasting changes.
My clients have shared that they appreciate working with me because I’m not overly “clinical” but rather “friendly, open, and personable.” I’m empathetic and truly care for the people I work with. One of my greatest strengths is my energy and attention to detail—I’m thoughtful, attentive, and remember key aspects from previous sessions. This helps me build strong, trusting relationships, creating a space where you’ll feel heard, understood, and fully supported.
I work best with clients who are open to exploring their emotions and uncovering the hidden patterns or subconscious influences shaping their lives. If you're ready to take a closer look at the beliefs or behaviors that might be holding you back, we could be a great match. I enjoy highlighting meaningful observations and collaborating with clients to heal past wounds, empowering you to move forward in your career, personal life, or relationships.
In my practice, I use a strength-based approach to help you discover and embrace the qualities and strengths you may not always notice in yourself. I believe that focusing on what’s already working in your life can give you the confidence to face challenges head-on. Together, we’ll identify and tap into your existing resources, building on your resilience and strengthening your sense of self-efficacy. This approach encourages growth, self-compassion, and a more positive outlook on life, helping you tackle difficulties and keep moving forward with a sense of empowerment.
In my practice, I take a humanistic approach by staying authentic and true to myself in how I interact with clients. I bring my personality, quirks, and sense of humor into our sessions to help you feel seen and heard. I truly believe that being understood is healing in itself. My nonjudgmental, genuine demeanor creates a relaxed space where you can open up without fear of being judged. By keeping things casual and approachable, I encourage you to be yourself, fostering a deeper connection and making our work together more effective.
I take a person-centered approach, where you lead the way in our sessions. I might start by asking, "What’s on your mind today?" to give you the freedom to guide the conversation. As a compassionate listener, I focus on fully understanding your experience without judgment, offering support rather than directing the flow. My goal is to help you uncover what’s bothering you and what you need to heal, all while creating space for you to explore your own solutions. This way, you feel empowered to take charge of your healing journey.
I really enjoy exploring my clients' "Self" and their internal parts through Internal Family Systems (IFS). I guide you through some psychoeducation to help you understand the different parts of yourself—some of which can be self-sabotaging, while others are really supportive. My approach is non-pathologizing, meaning I encourage you to see these parts as natural aspects of who you are, rather than something that needs fixing. I’ve found that this method is especially helpful for couples, as it helps them navigate the complexities of their relationships and develop a deeper understanding of each other. By balancing and integrating your internal parts, you can improve communication and create stronger, more connected relationships.
