I am a board certified Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I am a 2010 graduate of Wilmington University and completed a post-masters certificate at Nova Southeastern University in 2023. I have extensive experienced in primary care, sexual heath, urgent care, mental heath disorders, and substance use disorders.

I have extensive experienced in primary care, sexual heath, urgent care, mental heath disorders, and substance use disorders.

My goal is to improve health outcomes one person at a time by providing high-quality, individualized holistic care.

First session

In the first session, you can expect a warm, supportive, and collaborative conversation where the focus is on understanding their needs and setting a foundation. I'll start by making the client feel comfortable and encouraging open, honest dialogue. I'll explore what brought you to treatment, your current struggles, and what you hope to achieve. I will discuss personal history, relationships, coping strategies, past experiences with therapy and/or medications (if any), and what you can expect in future visits. I'll also discuss how often you'll meet and how progress will be tracked. Before the session ends, we might collaborate on a small, actionable step you can take toward your goals. This could be a coping strategy, self-reflection exercise, or simply identifying one positive change you would like to focus on. ***This practice does not write letters or complete forms for new clients. In order to be considered, a consistent therapeutic relationship for at least 3 months is required. Also, I DO NOT PRESCRIBE BENZODIAZEPINES for long-term management of anxiety or panic disorders or stimulants for ADHD. *** It’s important to understand that a consult is an evaluation, not a guarantee that a prescription will be given.

Strengths

Building strong therapeutic relationships by offering empathy and encouragement. I guide individuals toward practical, achievable steps rather than getting stuck in problems. My ability to help clients recognize their strengths and create meaningful change. I meet individuals where they are through active listening.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to serve clients who: * **Are seeking practical, goal-oriented support** – Individuals who want to focus on solutions rather than dwell on past struggles. * **Benefit from a strengths-based approach** – Clients who need help recognizing their own resilience and building on their existing skills. * **Experience anxiety, stress, or life transitions** – Those dealing with work stress, relationship challenges, or personal growth struggles who need emotional support and coping strategies. * **Need a safe, validating space** – People who benefit from supportive listening, encouragement, and emotional validation as they navigate challenges. * **Are motivated (or willing) to create change** – Those who may feel stuck but are open to exploring small, meaningful steps toward improvement. My ideal clients may include adults, professionals, or individuals facing stress, anxiety, or self-esteem concerns.

Treatment methods

Supportive

I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. I acknowledge clients’ emotions and experiences, helping them feel seen and accepted. I help clients process their feelings and thoughts, reducing distress by talking through their struggles. I offer practical tools to help clients manage stress, anxiety, and difficult situations. I highlight clients’ abilities and past successes to build confidence in their ability to handle challenges. While maintaining a client-centered approach, you provide gentle direction when needed to promote stability and progress.

Candice is totally relatable and knowledgeable in her field of expertise. I am so grateful that GROW Therapy directed me to her. I feel I really am blessed. Of all the therapists I have dealt with, and there have been many, she has helped me the most.
