Hello, my name is Hayley and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSWC). I have been a therapists for over 8 years and have practiced in the mental health field for 9 years. My goal as your therapist is to provide a non-judgmental, empathetic space where you feel comfortable, heard and understood. Life is unpredictable meaning you don't always know how to handle situations which can hinder your ability to function. I focus on helping clients identify where they are struggling and how to best cope and process these issues through the use of various clinical techniques. I specialize in grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, and adjusting to recent life changes. I have worked in hospital settings, hospice, palliative care, and private practice. I focus on a holistic, client centered approach to counseling and believe the whole person should be considered in order to help individuals develop a deeper understanding of themselves on all levels. Every person is different which means your treatment will be focused on your needs and strengths. Together we can create attainable goals that will draw from your current strengths and resources. We will process the areas you bring to the session while focusing on solutions and coping skills, so we can bring about the changes you want to see in your life. I look forward to working with you!
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session we will get to know one another and why you have reached out for therapy. I will ask you many questions about yourself; you are free to ask me questions as well. The most important thing clients can take away from a session is feeling that we are a good therapeutic fit. This will lead to you feeling safe and comfortable enough to open up so that a lot of work and growth can occur.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My most recent work has been addressing grief and loss in hospice and palliative care settings. Grief is such a taboo subject for many people, leading grievers to feel isolated. I want you to be able to speak openly about your grief without fear of judgement or misunderstanding. Grief is not always related to a death but also to areas like divorce, loss of a job, illness, life changes, etc. It is important to know that there is no right or wrong way to grieve. Before my grief work, I worked in a private practice with individuals suffering with anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues, as well as, couples counseling. I pride myself on my ability to make people feel comfortable and understood in a non-judgmental space.
