I believe therapy is a journey which can be challenging, emotional and difficult, yet ultimately exciting, and fulfilling. It's not a destination. My ultimate goal and objective is for you to live in your authenticity, to develop a relationship with yourself. As I see it, my role as a therapist is multifaceted, In that I will behave at times as your mentor, good parent, listener, one who offers support, and a witness to all of what you have to express. Many of us have rarely or ever experienced these behaviors growing up. Further, I believe in order to build the therapeutic relationship both you and I are active participants.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My primary goal is to guide, facilitate, mentor and challenge you to live in your authentic self. I want to witness and hear your story from a place of attentiveness, curiosity, compassion, empathy and support.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of the strengths and gifts I possess, is I have and continue to walk my own path of self discovery, and have for over 20 years. Meaning, I have worked on my own personal issues for years. I know first hand what it takes to evolve emotionally and spiritually. You also can experience your own grow, and live in your authenticity.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Much of my work has involved working with men and their struggles with vulnerability, emotional expression, anger, rage, sadness, guilt, shame and fears. Every other week, I facilitate and lead a men's group. Secondly, I'm trained in couples therapy, using what is called the developmental model. Further, I work extensively with the GLBT community.

For me therapy is a co-creation, in other words, I'm a part of the therapeutic experience with you. Sitting on a chair nodding my head or giving you advice is not therapeutic. For that you can call your parents and get that for free. Part of my role role is to assist you in finding more of you, and guiding you with becoming more aware of you, the parts you like as much as the parts you don't. Many of us have internalized the messages there's something wrong with parts of us, if not all of us.
