Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based out of Connecticut. I received my Masters from The University of Connecticut, School of Social Work in 2013 and have been practicing for over 10 years in the school setting. I have spent my career helping adolescents navigate stressors and manage mental health diagnoses that impact them in the school setting and access to their education. I have experience navigating the special education system and advocating for adolescents and their needs so they can be successful as they transition into adulthood.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will get to know you by gathering information about why you are seeking therapy, your goals for therapy and some information about your history. This will help me in creating a treatment plan that is developmentally appropriate and will meet your treatment goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I believe my greatest strengths lie in creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel safe to explore who they are, the challenges they face, and the person they aspire to become. Using a strengths-based approach encourages clients to recognize and embrace their inherent abilities—often uncovering qualities they hadn't previously acknowledged. This not only fosters greater self-awareness and self-esteem, but also empowers clients to navigate difficult emotions with confidence.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about working with school aged children as I have experience in the school system that can provide support in navigating barriers that impact this population. My experience and knowledge around child development and understanding the systems that children and their families have to navigate, guides my work with this population.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, I pull from multiple treatment methods based on the client's goals for therapy and treatment. I always lead with a strengths based, goal oriented framework. I have used CBT in the school setting with adolescents for the past 10 years. I have found that CBT is effective in helping clients become aware of their thought patterns and learn how to change negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and other emotional challenges that impact their daily functioning.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is a goal-oriented treatment method that I have been using with adolescent clients in the school setting for the past 10 years that focuses on finding solutions to current problems rather than dwelling on past issues, which is helpful for clients facing short-term challenges.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

This treatment method focuses on building skills to increase psychological flexibility. Clients learn how to accept and manage difficult emotions, thoughts, and sensations without letting them interfere with personal growth or goal achievement. It is helpful for clients to learn explicit skills that they can practice and implement in their daily life to decrease the impact of their suffering.
