Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina, and I work with adults ages 18–64 navigating life’s many ups and downs. Whether you're facing stress, anxiety, grief, life transitions, or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to support you. I’m a compassionate, nonjudgmental listener and I’ll walk alongside you at your own pace. My faith is an important part of who I am—I see the world through a biblical lens—but I deeply respect and honor the diverse beliefs and values of the people I work with. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I truly applaud you for taking this step. Prioritizing your mental health is never something to regret—it’s an investment in your future. A little about me: I have two affectionate cats, Chester and Henry, who bring comfort and comic relief to my days. I also help care for my aging parents, so I value the flexibility of online therapy and the connection it allows me to have with clients like you. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey.
The first session is all about getting to know you in a comfortable, low-pressure environment. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, explore important areas of your life, and begin to identify what you'd like to work on—though there's no pressure to have all the answers right away. You're always in control of what you choose to share. If you're not ready to talk about certain things, that's completely okay. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and heard from the very beginning. We'll move at a pace that feels right for you.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a calm, welcoming environment where clients feel at ease. I’m a compassionate and attentive listener, and I take the time to ask thoughtful questions that help uncover what you truly want to work through and overcome. I focus on identifying your strengths and what’s already going well, while also helping you address the challenges that may be weighing you down. My approach is supportive, encouraging, and solutions-focused—aimed at helping you gain clarity, confidence, and hope as you move forward.
I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, or navigating major life transitions. These challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face them alone. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore what you’re experiencing, identify what’s holding you back, and begin taking steps toward healing and growth. Whether you're going through a difficult season or just feeling "off," I'm here to help you find balance, resilience, and renewed hope.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a practical and goal-oriented approach to therapy that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It’s based on the idea that negative or unhelpful thought patterns can contribute to emotional distress and self-defeating behaviors. In CBT, we work together to identify these patterns and learn how to challenge and reframe them, so you can respond to life’s challenges in healthier, more balanced ways. It focuses on the present and equips you with tools to manage difficult emotions, improve problem-solving, and build lasting coping skills. CBT is widely used to treat conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more. It can also be a helpful part of care for more complex conditions such as bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, when used alongside other treatments.
Christian counseling is a therapy approach that integrates faith and spiritual principles with psychological techniques to address mental health concerns. It uses a Christian worldview to understand and approach a person’s struggles, and may include spiritual practices such as prayer, scripture, and reflection when appropriate and desired by the client. When clients request a Christian therapist, I offer support that helps them access and strengthen their faith as a vital part of their healing and personal growth. This method can be used on its own or integrated with evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), depending on your needs and preferences. The goal is to promote emotional and spiritual well-being by combining traditional therapeutic tools with faith-based support. I strive to provide a compassionate, respectful space where your beliefs are honored and your journey is supported from both a clinical and spiritual perspective.
Solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented approach to therapy that focuses on identifying and building upon client strengths and creating solutions to problems rather than dwelling on past issues or underlying causes.
