It takes courage to accept and seek help and set out on your recovery journey. My focus in our work will be on meeting you where you are at and in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can collaborate and explore what can be helpful in addressing your needs, wants, and barriers to getting them met. Together, we will challenge ourselves to show up authentically in relationship so we can examine the areas of your life that you would like support in. These areas can often include examining how systemic and cultural factors influence our perception of ourselves, others, and the world. My hope in our work together is that you'll come away with a renewed sense of self and identity that not only addresses the hardships and challenges you have endured, but also empowers you to affirm your sense of agency, and make your mark on the world.
Our first session together we will discuss what concerns/symptoms you would like to address in therapy and how they impact your life. We will then collaboratively develop treatment goals to guide our work together. If you have participated in psychotherapy in the past, we will discuss what you found most helpful during those experiences. I will also hold space for us both to get to know each other on a relational level in order to ensure that the therapeutic space is a good fit for you going forward.
I feel my greatest strengths as a psychotherapist lie in my multifaceted approach and my commitment to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space for my clients. I always aim to meet clients where they are at in order to foster a deep sense of trust and collaboration, allowing them to explore their emotions in a grounded and supportive environment. My background in community mental health allowed me the opportunity of working with a culturally diverse clientele and I strive to provide the highest quality of care tailored to their unique background and needs. Through our work together, I hope to utilize these strengths in order to empower you to navigate your challenges with resilience and authenticity.
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, particularly those navigating life transitions, identity exploration, or feelings of disconnection. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, whether in patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, or relationship challenges and are looking for a space to slow down, reflect, and create meaningful change. My approach is especially supportive for individuals who want to build a stronger sense of self, improve communication and connection in relationships, and develop tools to navigate life with greater intention and authenticity. Whether you're looking to process difficult experiences, gain clarity, or grow into a more aligned version of yourself, I aim to provide a collaborative space where that work can unfold.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT techniques in order to develop the client's ability to identify and challenge thoughts and beliefs that cause unnecessary distress in their lives. I also support the client in improving their coping skills in order to better manage their mood symptoms.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I utilize DBT principles such as developing Wise MInd and Radical Acceptance in order to support the client in developing a higher distress tolerance and increase their ability to cope with posttraumatic symptoms including triggers and emotional dysregulation.
Psychodynamic
I utilize psychodynamics in order to support client in developing their insights into unconscious interpersonal dynamics that could be affecting their relationships. I also utilize psychodynamics in order to analyze maladaptive defenses that could be inhibiting client's functioning.

Sean is a seriously excellent therapist - he's warm, intelligent, direct, and does a great job of drawing out the connections between different parts of my life and ways to engage more effectively with the things that challenge me. I have grown a ton in my time working with Sean and am very grateful for his support in that growth.
