(she/her)
I am a licensed clinical social worker based in California. I have been working in community mental health for the past 11 years, primarily serving vulnerable families and children. I have focused my practice on supporting and amplifying the voices of folks impacted by involvement in the foster care, probation, and the criminal justice system. I combined talk therapy with creative and sensory based interventions to provide a holistic approach to healing.
In our first session we will focus on getting to know one another and review expectations for therapy. We will explore your personal goals, underlying needs, and functional strengths. During our time together we will identify barriers impacting your ability to reach your goals and explore how to build a sense of community through informal and formal support. We will cultivate a space for fostering resilience and build a tool box of skills for managing life adversity.
Life is unpredictable and without the right support, it can feel unmanageable. Through creativity, humor, empathy and radical honesty, I aim to build a therapeutic alliance that helps you feel like a safe space for growing into the most secure version of yourself.
I have experience working with young adults and adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, developmental trauma, familial conflict, and stress management. Through a trauma responsive approach to treatment, I dedicate my practice to helping individuals process difficult feelings and experiences in a culturally humble, anti-oppressive and affirming space.
I have been utilizing trauma informed and trauma responsive treatment for over ten years and am passionate about assisting clients in realizing, recognizing, responding and resisting re-traumatization.
