New clients continue care with this provider

I have been in practice for twenty plus years, supporting people to connect with their power to manage areas of their life that cause discord and pain. I strive to create a safe and supportive space for our work together so people can be at home with all their struggles and their joys. Without this space, all the theories and practices that I have collected and can share with you to help make sense of our experiences, can feel empty and cold. I look forward to generating between us a more healing and balanced state to go forth on our journeys with more comfort, purpose and ease.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session will open with a conversation about yourself and what, at the moment, you hope therapy will address. I am open to questions about the process. I love deep listening and asking reflective questions for you to have as much space as you would like to share your experience. This helps me have a clearer picture of your expectations and I hope gives you a sense of my strengths in the work.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I continue to develop a keen ability to authentically hold a positive regard and remain grounded through complex, unsettling times. I have deep respect for our human experience and can manage difficult discussions with humility, levity, and empathy.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients may feel misunderstood by others and have difficulty understanding situations that arise over and over again in their life. They may feel unfulfilled and question their ability to make real connections with others. I enjoy uncovering the overlooked stories that remain hidden beneath the unhelpful narratives that have been given as explanations for why we may feel disconnected and unempowered.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

My practice has been rooted in exploring our own experiences, past and present, to find deeper meaning in our strengths and troubles so that we can hold them in a manner that brings more peace and balance in our life.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have training and practice in supporting the attitudes and foundations of mindfulness to promote long lasting skills that enhance how we hold pain and joy in our lives. We will practice ways to notice different perspectives to offer healing and deep self compassion so we can truly enjoy even the smallest pleasures in our complex lives.

Humanistic

I value one's own experience and truly believe that we each hold healing within ourselves. Through community and support, one can express great ways towards health, growth and resiliency. Therapy should enhance a sense of self worth and acceptance, not try to analyze difficulties without acknowledging our contexts.

Eclectic

In the years of practice I have trained in many modalities that have lent important skills and ideas to my work. The most commonly used modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. These have elements that are very directive but my approach introduces ideas for people to consider for themselves. People can take from these approaches what is helpful including generating different ideas or practices spurred by these modalities.
