Hi! I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2005. I'm licensed as a clinical social worker in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Michigan, and Ohio. I specialize in working with professional women with Imposter Syndrome. I address self-esteem, anxiety, and traumatic experiences that are often at the root of the problem. I focus on the here and now, and I only address the past as a way to improve your current life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I will ask about various aspects of your life to learn more about you, your strengths, and where you feel stuck in life. I will tailor your treatment according to what you need and what works best for you. I also want to answer any questions you have about therapy and what to expect, and about me and the various techniques I use. I want to discuss skills you're interested in learning and how you feel about doing work outside of sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My clients tell me they feel comfortable telling me anything because I am very understanding, open-minded, and non-judgmental. While it's great to have someone who listens and accepts you, I also give feedback, including ways to look at situations with a different perspective, teach skills to handle situations differently and help with problem-solving. I help people see that while none of us is perfect, there is always hope as we learn new skills. I teach people to see the best in themselves and to continue to be better at things like self-awareness, self-acceptance, handling emotions, and communicating more assertively and effectively with others. When you're ready, book your free consultation call with me to discuss what you'd like to improve in your life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am passionate about working with professionals who feel they are "not good enough" or who worry about living up to others' expectations. We can work together to help you learn to love yourself for who you are and not what you accomplish. My clients are working on healing from emotional trauma, learning to understand their feelings and how to handle them, and improving relationship skills. After working with me, people are better at expressing their feelings and needs in ways that help them grow closer to the people important to them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is a way to change thought patterns and behaviors that get in the way of achieving your goals in life.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

This one of the top evidence-based methods of overcoming trauma. It requires work and regular practice, but it works and you don't have to retell the story of what happened to you to see major results.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness can help with emotion regulation, learning not to act on our urges, improving self-awareness, and improving relationship skills, including communication.
