About me

Hi! I help clients rediscover their inner voice and reclaim their sense of confidence. I find value working with people that might be feeling stuck or overwhelmed, struggling to find joy in the everyday moments, or lacking a sense of fulfillment. More specifically, I love working with individuals struggling with social anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and individuals on the autism spectrum. I appreciate when clients are open to personal growth and are looking for guidance in navigating life’s challenges. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor based in North Carolina. I received my Masters from East Carolina University. I am a first time mom to a little boy born back in October. Navigating motherhood has been my newest hobby but I also love being outside, listening to audiobooks, surf fishing, trying new food, and spending time with my family/friends.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, we will ease into getting to know each other. I will guide this session to gather details most important to get started. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. There is no pressure to dive in to things that may be difficult to discuss but at the same time, I am here, and ready when you are. I hope you will feel safe and heard after every session.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a compassionate and laid-back approach to every session, creating a comfortable space where clients feel heard and understood. My kindness and patience allow me to build trust and rapport, making it easier for individuals to open up. I am deeply committed to learning about each client's unique journey, tailoring my approach to meet their specific needs. This personalized care helps clients unlock their potential and work toward achieving their goals in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I connect with clients that value authenticity and are interested in cultivating a deeper sense of self-awareness and mindfulness. They’re committed to making positive changes, whether it’s improving their relationships, healing from traumatic experiences, boosting their self-esteem, or simply learning how to be present in their daily life. They may be dealing with difficult emotions like guilt, anger, shame, anxiety, or self-doubt, and are ready to explore mindfulness techniques that will help them stay grounded, increase their resilience, and embrace life as it comes. They seek practical tools to manage stressors, enhance their well-being, and live a life aligned with their values. Above all, my dream client is motivated by a desire for more joy, balance, and connection in their life. They are ready to take small, meaningful steps toward lasting transformation.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I help clients identify and see how their behaviors are either aligned or misaligned with their core values to live a meaningful life. I teach mindfulness strategies to increase flexible thinking patterns and adopt an acceptance mindset rather than avoiding or suppressing. I have seen this lead to more feelings of peace and empowerment. This approach can also be helpful for those clients managing grief. This is a compassionate approach to redefine purpose and/or take action steps toward healing.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients connect emotions to thoughts and behaviors with the hopes of shifting unhelpful thoughts to more truthful, helpful, and empowering thoughts of self. I teach about cognitive distortions and how to reframe them through facts. This can lead to more purposeful interactions with others and increased confidence.

Motivational Interviewing

This approach can be helpful in therapy because often times clients may be "on the fence" about making a big life decision. This approach helps explore your own reasons for making certain decisions and increase problem-solving skills to feel more confident about your behaviors. There's no judgment, just understanding and support.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I utilize CPT for clients healing from traumatic experiences. This is a writing/journaling approach that we talk through together to identify negative thoughts, develop problem solving skills, and build confidence to get back to living your life in the present. I use this approach in combination with mindfulness techniques to help clients talk through difficult memories and symptoms.

Humanistic

This is the core of my therapeutic style. This simply means I believe in you and your unique journey. I hope to provide a safe, compassionate, accepting environment for you to reach your full potential.

There are a lot of things that stand out about Lindsay, but Growtherapy only allows 2 choices. I would say that no other therapist has helped me through anxiety and burnout while sharpening my focus toward purpose-driven activities as a key tool in the toolbox of solutions. I had tried a couple other therapists previously, but Lindsay was the one who found the right balance between understanding what is challenging enough to keep my interest and relevant enough to make a lasting difference.
