I'm Dr. Kristin Rice, a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping adults navigate anxiety, life transitions, and perinatal mental health challenges. With over six years of clinical experience, I provide supportive, goal-oriented therapy that blends empathy with practical tools. My work empowers clients to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and make meaningful progress toward a more grounded and fulfilling life.
Your first session is a chance to get to know each other and lay the groundwork for a strong therapeutic relationship. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you to therapy now, what you’ve already tried, and what your goals are. You’ll also have space to share anything you feel is important to your story. Together, we’ll co-create a treatment plan that fits your needs, pace, and comfort level.
My clients often tell me they feel truly seen and heard in our work together. I blend deep empathy with evidence-based tools like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness to support both insight and action. I have specialized experience supporting perinatal clients and those facing high-stress roles, and I’m passionate about creating a therapy space that is culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and trauma-informed. My ability to balance warmth, collaboration, and structure helps clients feel safe while moving toward real change.
I work best with adults and young adults who are thoughtful, self-aware, and motivated for change, even if they're feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, identity shifts, or major life transitions like new parenthood, career changes, or relationship stress. They’re seeking a therapist who offers more than just space to talk, they want structure, guidance, and actionable support from someone warm, collaborative, and attuned to their unique experience. I especially enjoy working with women, parents, and healthcare professionals looking to reconnect with themselves, build emotional resilience, and find clarity in the chaos.
I use CBT to help clients recognize and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, or emotional distress. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected, and practice new ways of thinking that support your goals. CBT is highly structured and skills-based, so clients leave sessions with tools they can use right away to feel more in control and empowered.
I integrate mindfulness techniques into therapy to help clients develop greater awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations. This approach supports emotional regulation, reduces anxiety, and helps clients reconnect with the present moment, especially during times of stress or transition.
I use ACT to help clients clarify their values and build resilience through acceptance and committed action. Together, we work on letting go of the struggle with difficult emotions while taking meaningful steps toward the life they want to live.
I create a safe, supportive environment that prioritizes emotional safety and empowerment for clients with trauma histories. My trauma-informed approach is woven into all aspects of care, whether we're processing past experiences or building coping tools for current challenges.
For clients experiencing OCD or anxiety-related disorders, I use ERP to gradually and safely confront feared situations while resisting compulsive behaviors. This method supports long-term symptom reduction and builds confidence in managing intrusive thoughts.
