(she/her)
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adults navigate their mental health journeys with care and understanding. I specialize in treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and insomnia using evidence-based therapies and, when appropriate, medication management. My approach is holistic and collaborative, focusing on empowering clients to take an active role in achieving emotional well-being and a better quality of life.
In their first session, clients can expect a warm and welcoming environment where they feel safe sharing their concerns. I will conduct a comprehensive assessment to better understand their mental health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and goals for treatment. This session is an opportunity for us to build rapport, discuss any questions or concerns, and begin creating a personalized treatment plan. Clients can also expect transparency about the process, whether it includes therapy, medication, or a combination of approaches, and a collaborative focus on their well-being.
My strength as a provider is my ability to quickly build interpersonal relationships that provide my clients with a safe space to discuss their thoughts and feelings without judgment. As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my compassionate, patient-centered approach and my ability to build strong therapeutic relationships. I pride myself on active listening and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and valued. Additionally, I have a solid foundation in evidence-based practices, which allows me to tailor treatment plans to meet each client’s unique needs. My commitment to ongoing education and staying current in mental health care ensures that I provide the most effective and up-to-date interventions.
As a PMHNP specializing in treating adults aged 18 and over, I am best positioned to serve individuals navigating the unique mental health challenges of adulthood. This includes clients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, insomnia, or stress related to life transitions, work, or relationships. I excel in working with clients who seek a supportive and collaborative approach to their care, combining evidence-based therapies and medication management when appropriate. My focus is on helping adults achieve emotional stability, enhance their coping skills, and improve their overall quality of life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of talk therapy that helps people understand and change unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior. It’s based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. For example, negative thoughts can lead to feelings of sadness or anxiety, which might cause behaviors like avoiding activities or people. In CBT, a Provider works with you to identify these patterns and teaches practical skills to challenge negative thoughts, manage emotions, and adopt healthier behaviors to improve your well-being.
