Ali Nikpour
I’m Ali, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and the founder of Clarivolve Mental Health. I work with teenagers and adults managing depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar spectrum conditions, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.
Patients consistently tell me they appreciate how I explain diagnoses, medications, and treatment rationale in plain language—without losing clinical rigor.
My approach blends thoughtful medication management with psychoeducation and collaborative goal-setting, so patients leave each visit feeling heard, informed, and confident in the plan we build together.
First session
Our first session is a 60-minute comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We’ll review your current concerns, mental health and medical history, family history, medications, substance use, sleep, and life stressors. I’ll explain my clinical impressions in plain language, discuss diagnosis and treatment options, and—when appropriate—start or adjust medications. You’ll leave with a clear plan, realistic expectations about timelines, and space to ask questions. Follow-up visits are typically 20–25minutes.
Strengths
My greatest strength is making complex psychiatric care feel clear and approachable. Patients consistently tell me they appreciate how I explain diagnoses, medications, and treatment rationale in plain language—without losing clinical rigor. I take time to understand the whole person, not just the symptom list, and I tailor treatment to each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and values. I stay current with evidence-based guidelines and emerging research in psychopharmacology, and I’m comfortable managing complex presentations including treatment-resistant depression, adult ADHD, bipolar spectrum conditions, and co-occurring anxiety. Above all, I’m responsive, non-judgmental, and committed to building a long-term therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and shared decision-making.
Ideal clients
I work best with teenagers and adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar spectrum conditions, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. My ideal clients are motivated to understand their diagnosis, partner with me on medication decisions, and engage in collaborative care. I also enjoy working with students, professionals, and individuals balancing demanding schedules who value clear communication, evidence-based treatment, and a thoughtful, individualized approach.
Treatment methods
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation as a foundational element of every visit. I help patients and their families understand their diagnosis, how medications work, expected timelines for response, potential side effects, and the neurobiology behind their symptoms in plain, accessible language. I also discuss lifestyle factors—sleep, substance use, stress, and nutrition—that influence mental health, and I provide written resources and follow-up materials when helpful. My goal is to empower patients to be active, informed participants in their treatment decisions.
