I have specialized interest and experience working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma and I meet you wherever you are on your journey. I offer my presence, empathy, authenticity and facilitate work in a way that helps you look at aspects you maybe unaware of that are needed, aspects that no longer serve and offer tools to start to move forward on your journey with renewed hope and understanding. I choose from different therapeutic modalities and am very interactive in my sessions, helping you to connect the dots to the stuck parts of yourself so you can start to experience growth in a way that is meaningful to you.
In the first session, I go over the intake forms so I have clarity on exactly what the client is experiencing. I administer assessments to understand where the symptoms are coming from and engage the client in creating a collaborative treatment plan in which goals are outlined. This gives us a roadmap in how the therapy will unfold as we move forward. I also like to create a genogram, so I have an understanding of patterns from one generation to another.
Creating safety and trust in our relationship is the most important thing. From there, utilizing an eclectic approach using different therapeutic modalities to understand the client's journey. Helping the client to see their childhood with the lens they have today with all the experience and wisdom they have acquired, instead of seeing it the way they did when they were a child. This in itself starts to shift the client's perception from, "something is wrong with me," to "no wonder I have the symptomatology I have." Throughout my work with you my priority is making sure you are seen, heard, supported and validated as you work towards a life of authenticity.
I love working with clients who are at the cusp of wanting to make the necessary changes and are seeking the knowledge to implement them. At the same time, I understand resistance is about fear. Fear maybe about not having hope that change is possible for them. Having an ally on your journey who believes in you and supports your growth while gently challenging you to look at aspects that are hindering your path allows you to be the version of yourself you have always wanted to be.
Helping clients identify their attachment style (secure, insecure, avoidant or disorganized) gives them clarity on how they are relating in relationships now. Their relational patterns are actually rooted in early childhood experiences with caregivers. Through this relationship with the therapist the client creates a corrective emotional experience while experiencing empathy, non-judgemental presence and consistency in sessions.
I would use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients increase psychological flexibility by guiding them to accept difficult thoughts and feelings rather than avoid them. I would teach mindfulness skills to help clients stay present and detach from unhelpful internal experiences. Through values clarification exercises, I would support clients in identifying what truly matters to them and commit to taking meaningful actions aligned with those values, even in the face of discomfort. This process empowers clients to live more intentionally and authentically.
When working with couples I have experience utilizing Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) model. I focus on identifying and reshaping negative interaction patterns rooted in attachment needs. Help each partner explore their underlying emotions—especially vulnerable ones like fear, sadness, or shame—and express these in a way that fosters connection rather than conflict. The goal is to create a safe emotional environment where partners can respond to each other with empathy and accessibility. Over time, I gently guide the couple in forming more secure emotional bonds and healthier communication patterns. This process typically unfolds in three stages: de-escalation, restructuring interactions, and consolidation.
I utilize EMDR to help clients process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences that continue to affect their present lives. I begin by working with clients to identify target memories and establish safety through grounding and resourcing techniques. During EMDR, I guide them through bilateral stimulation—often using eye movements or tapping—while they focus on specific thoughts, emotions, or body sensations. This process allows clients to reprocess the memory in a way that reduces emotional intensity and promotes adaptive beliefs. Over time, I’ve seen clients gain relief, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.
In my work, I utilize multicultural therapy by honoring each client’s unique cultural background, values, and lived experiences. I take time to understand how factors like race, ethnicity, religion, gender, and socio-economic status shape their worldview and influence their mental health. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where clients feel seen and respected for who they are. Throughout our work, I remain curious, open, and committed to addressing any power dynamics or biases that may arise. My goal is to support clients in navigating challenges while affirming their identity and strengths.
