About me

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Just Be Therapy, LLC providing virtual therapy to adults and adolescents. Originally from Kentucky and now based in New Jersey, I bring a culturally responsive, down-to-earth approach to my work. I specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, OCD, addiction, trauma, grief, substance abuse, and neurodivergence, and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and gender-affirming in my care. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP. My style is warm and collaborative, focused on helping clients feel deeply understood while building meaningful, lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is all about you. We’ll take time to explore what’s been going on in your life, what feels most important to talk about, and what you’re hoping for moving forward. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can share at your own pace. Together, we’ll begin building a foundation for our work and identify small, meaningful next steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Warm, compassionate, and collaborative, I provide empathetic, client-centered care grounded in evidence-based practices. I focus on building practical, personalized skills while creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and able to move toward a deeper sense of self.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure of how to move forward, but are open to support and growth. They may be navigating anxiety, intrusive thoughts, trauma, or identity-related challenges, and often feel disconnected from themselves. Together, we focus on helping them feel more grounded, build effective coping skills, and take meaningful steps toward healing and a more authentic life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, CBT helps clients make sense of how their thoughts impact how they feel and respond to situations. I support clients in gently challenging patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building practical tools to navigate stress, anxiety, and everyday challenges with more clarity and confidence.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I incorporate ACT by helping clients develop psychological flexibility through acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based action. Rather than focusing on eliminating symptoms, we work on changing the relationship to internal experiences while committing to behaviors that support long-term growth and well-being.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients build practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving relationships, and coping with distress. This includes mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills that can be applied in everyday life to feel more balanced and in control.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I incorporate ERP by guiding clients through gradual, planned exposures to feared thoughts or situations while preventing compulsive responses. This evidence-based approach helps reduce avoidance, increase tolerance for distress, and weaken the cycle of OCD, leading to long-term symptom relief and improved daily functioning.

Somatic

I integrate somatic approaches by helping clients recognize the connection between the mind and body, particularly in response to stress and trauma. Through grounding, breathwork, and body-based awareness, clients learn to regulate their nervous system, reduce physical tension, and increase overall emotional stability.
