Hi there! I am Carolyn Ellis, a licensed mental health counselor in Central Florida with 24 years of professional work as a therapist. If you have ever felt overwhelmed, I am the therapist for you. Have you ever felt like life is just really tough and it is a struggle to manage everyday? Are you struggling with people, work problems, or just not feeling right? Maybe you feel like you are being pulled in a million directions? Therapy is just the thing you need. My style is interactive and welcoming. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I do not believe in using stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I can help you. Something I think is important is to prioritize your mental health and to set up personal goals for success. That is what you can strive to achieve by participating in counseling. Let’s chat! Please know that it takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life, as well as taking the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you.
In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Whether you're dealing with strong emotions, feeling overwhelmed, struggles with relationship issues, or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow.
The goal is to help you build insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, and Psychoeducation. Each session is an attempt to meet your unique needs, recognizing that no single approach fits all. Through collaboration and active engagement, clients will challenge unhelpful thought patterns, regulate emotions, strengthen resilience, and enhance overall well-being. By combining structured interventions with a warm and approachable style, clients are supported in achieving personal growth, improving daily functioning, and reaching their individual goals.
I have experience working with individuals from a variety of situations, issues, and backgrounds. I have helped children, adolescent/youth, and adults of all ages who are having difficulties with issues such as depression, stress and anxiety, self-esteem and confidence, relationship troubles, parenting problems, and career challenges. I also have experience working with individuals and couples who are coping with life changes. I have worked in schools, mental health agencies, and in private practice.

CBT is a great way to get started understanding your thoughts and how you thoughts impact your emotions, actions and decisions.
Mindfulness is essential to reducing stress and finding calm. I like to use DBT in addition to CBT as a therapy.
The Human experience can be full of difficulties. Positive Psychology allows you to focus and practice gratitude, strength, and mindfulness working toward resiliency and promote personal growth.
