(she/her)
Hello! My name is Dr. Fields and I am a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I obtained my doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh & studied behavioral health and psychiatry at the University of Virginia. I have been practicing as a nurse practitioner for 10 years and look forward to partnering with you to achieve your best health. I specialize in diagnosing, preventing, and treating deleterious mental conditions that involve matters related to mood, behavior, cognition, concentration, and perceptions.
During our first session, we will discuss your needs, desires, and concerns. We will begin exploring your symptoms so we can discuss treatment options and start to get insight or answers to better explain what you are feeling. You can expect to be listened to and valued as I take great pride in partnering with you to help you find answers, achieve your goals, and aim for higher functioning.
I am a great listener. You have walked in your shoes and lived your life up to this point, and I want to learn how you are doing and how I can help. I pride myself in providing psychoeducation in all of my sessions so that you can understand my suggestions and recommendations and be equipped to feel better. Knowledge is power and can help us make life-changing choices. I love sharing my knowledge and expertise with you, as you are the expert of your story, body, and situation, and together we can tackle your illness and concerns.
Whether you have seen behavioral health specialists before, or this is your first time seeking care, I strive to make you feel comfortable and heard. I treat patients across the lifespan from 13 years old to 130 years old. I will help give insight to the "why" behind what you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing, and I will give you the "what" we can do about it to help your find relief, peace, focus, and "your best self again".
