New to Grow
I have been providing individual psychotherapy for over 7 years. I help individuals resolve past trauma, anxiety, depression and identify coping skills to help improve their lives. I have worked with adults and teens to help with anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, and other mood disorders. I also have experience working with personality disorders. I empower clients to develop coping strategies and make behavioral changes so they can have a good mental health future. I allow the client to share their experiences, stressors, feelings, and thoughts in a non-judgmental environment.
I provide a comfortable setting where they can share their feelings and thoughts without feeling judged. While building rapport, you'll discuss the why now on what brings you to therapy, current challenges, and goals. We will complete a biopsychosocial assessment your personal history, including family, work, relationships, substance use, and mental health background.
I provide a strength-based approach. I work with the client to develop SMART goals. Setting short and long-term goals that are simple and attainable. Together, we create an action plan to help them achieve their goals. We track progress through check-ins. I have always had a passion for helping others in the mental health area. I have a wealth of experience working in child protective services, inpatient psychiatric acute hospitals, and in school settings.
A client who is motivated, open-minded and willing to engage in the therapeutic process. They are willing to take an active role in helping resolve the issue or issues that led them to seek therapy. Willing to engage in discussion, be vulnerable to explore difficult emotions, challenge their thoughts, and work on tasks in between sessions. Be transparent and honest with therapist. Motivated to take an active role in making the necessary steps to help them improve their mental health.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been using CBT for over 5 years as a primary treatment method. I focus on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions to help clients resolve issues with anxiety, depression and trauma. I assist clients with identifying and challenging irritational negative thoughts. I encourage clients to journal their thoughts and feelings to help identify those automatic thoughts and work together to help resolve them.
Psychodynamic
I have been using psychodynamic treatment for 5 years in talk therapy. It helps clients explore their unconscious thoughts, feelings and past lived experiences that help shape their current behaviors and relationships. Asking client's open-ended questions, focusing on processing their difficult emotions and identifying patterns in their life to help clients gain insight that can help lead to lasting behavior change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use SFBT, particularly, when working with EAP clients as it is short-term, future-oriented and goal driven. I ask the miracle question to help provide insight as to what would make their life better, what they feel is the problem and help the problem solve.
