Hi! My name is Kaitlyn and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker with 4 years of experience as a therapist. I admire that you have taken the first step in your therapy journey- I understand how hard that first step can be. As a therapist, I am here to walk along side you as you navigate through the joys and heartaches of life. I aim to create a safe space and support you through whatever life has thrown your way and work towards helping you feel like you again. Whether it is exploring your past, learning new coping skills, or working towards communication, I am here to help. I feel grateful for the opportunity to watch client's progress towards happiness and their goals. If you are ready to start on your journey, I invite you to schedule your first session. I look forward to meeting you!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and then transition into getting to know you. We will take time to discuss your story, your goals and what brought you to therapy. There's no pressure, no judgement, just a conversation to see how I can best help. Therapy works best when you feel comfortable and understood, so I want to make sure you have the space where you can be yourself. My style is laid-back, easy to talk to, and focused on what you need. If you decide to move forward with me as your therapist, we'll create a treatment plan that outlines your goals- but if I'm not the best fit, I'll help you find someone who is. The most important thing I strive for during each intake is to support you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a former collegiate athlete, I bring the mindset of a team to therapy- always there to support, guide, and help in any way that I can. My personal experiences, combined with 4 years of working with people from all walks of life, has shaped how I show up as a therapist. I bring a deep level of empathy, compassion, and a strong understanding of the weight of expectations to therapy. I am personable and direct, when needed, to help clients face the obstacles in their life. I believe that therapy should be collaborative- this isn't a one-size-fits- all approach. I take the time to understand each person's unique experience, strengths, and goals so that we can build a treatment plan that works for you.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I really enjoy working with individuals who label themselves as high achievers- the ones who set big goals, push themselves in their career, and chase satisfaction or fulfillment. Maybe you are an athlete who's had to navigate the emotions around an injury, or someone who's always been driven but now finds anxiety or self-doubt creeping in. As a previous Division 1 athlete, I get it- when your identity is built around performance and being apart of a community, setbacks can feel overwhelming. My goal is to help you work through the emotional hurdles so you can keep striving, not just for success, but for a life that feels fulfilling and balanced.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is rooted in self compassion and understanding of how past experiences influence us now. Through this approach, I guide clients in their journey of appreciation towards all the parts of themselves that make them unique and learn that our mind works hard to protect us.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This approach helps each client have greater understanding of how our mood influences our behavior and vise-versa. We will dive into ways to reframe negative thought patterns that keep us from enjoying our day-to-day life.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Set with the understanding that you are your own expert in your life, I am here to provide acceptance and unconditional support.
