(she/her)
Hi, I'm Emily! I love helping my clients identify their needs and goals, make changes in their lives, and feel like themselves again. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in PA and I've been practicing in the field for five years now. In my full time role, I serve college students in a campus counseling center and I have experience supporting teens and adults of all ages.
In a first session, I want to get to know you! What's going on in your world that brought you here? What would you like to see change? Where would you like to be? I also want to use this time to ensure that we're a good fit! Tell me about any previous therapy you've had; what works for you and what doesn't. We'll come up with a plan for next steps together.
My clients describe my approach as warm, compassionate, and authentic.
Life can get hard sometimes. Even if you've always been the one who's 'held it together,' losing a loved one, feeling the pressure to be perfect, and always pushing through without support can get heavy. Maybe you're feeling stretched too thin trying to keep up with work, a home, a relationship, and family expectations. Or maybe you keep finding yourself repeating the same patterns in your relationships, dating the same person again and again. Feeling stuck in the same loop of trying to do it all and never having time for you? Taking that first step to schedule is the hardest part. I'm here to listen when you're ready.
I believe in an individualized, supportive, and collaborative approach to care.
We will always proceed at your pace, use skills to increase sense of safety, and pause as needed.
I will respect your pronouns, identities, and advocate as I can.
In our fast paced world it's easy to become out of touch with our emotions and our bodies. In the therapy space I like to help clients sit with emotions and explore them.
Loss is one of the most difficult experiences in life. I will be there and help you navigate this new world after your loss.
