Hi! My name is David and I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience providing services to various populations in a variety of settings. Just a little about me: I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in social work, and have had the opportunity of treating different age groups in a multiple settings including outpatient, inpatient, in-home, residential, and emergency rooms. I know that seeking therapy is a difficult step, and I am glad that you reached out, as I am here to help guide you along that path to healing. Together, we can make a difference.
Just getting to know one another, seeing if our personalities match, and if it’s a good fit to continue on with treatment. Not much progress will be made during that first session, but hopefully within 4-6 you start to notice a change.
I utilize a variety of approaches, including motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in helping people heal. I don’t stick to any particular theoretical model, as I don’t believe there is a “one size fits all”approach to therapy. I tailor my methods to whatever works for any particular client.
As I stated before, I have worked with a variety of clients in various settings. I am particularly passionate about young adults, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.
I can work with anyone, but I do prefer young adults, I am definitely passionate about people of color (particularly the African-American and Latino communities), as well las LGBTQ+
