Hi, I’m Megan Cannone, and I’m here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health and oncology fields, I bring a compassionate, relationship-based approach to therapy. I earned my MSW from Western Carolina University in 2009, and since then, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals. From my early days in a psychiatric unit to over six years in hospice care and more recently, supporting young adults with cancer, I’ve developed a deep understanding of the emotional challenges people face during difficult times. As a certified oncology social worker and oncology patient navigator, I specialize in helping individuals navigate not only the emotional aspects of cancer but also the intersection of mental health and chronic illness. Whether you're coping with grief, illness, or life transitions, I’m here to meet you where you are with empathy, respect, and expertise. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and collaboration. I work alongside you, providing guidance and tools that are tailored to your individual needs. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and find meaningful ways to navigate life’s challenges. If you’re ready to take the next step toward a more balanced, fulfilling life, I would be honored to walk with you through this process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know one another and exploring your unique goals for therapy. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported, allowing you to open up at your own pace. I believe that building a trusting relationship is essential, and I am committed to providing a safe environment for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe my greatest strengths as a provider are my empathy, experience, and ability to build strong, trusting relationships with my clients. With over 15 years in the field, including specialized work with those impacted by cancer, I bring a deep understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges that people face during difficult times. My approach is client-centered, and I am dedicated to creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard and understood. I also work collaboratively, tailoring my support to each individual’s unique needs, goals, and pace. My focus on building trust and offering a compassionate presence allows my clients to feel comfortable and empowered as they navigate their challenges.
