Mental illnesses can affect how you think, feel, and understand the world. Mental illness does not have a face, gender, color of skin, cultural background, or age. If you are dealing with a mental health disorder, you are not alone. You and I will work as a team till we find the formula that will stabilize you.
I love working with young professionals who are in the first few years of their careers. My clients are eager to improve but don't yet have the tools to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious about their careers.
Dr. Gedeon Longtchi offers therapy covered by UnitedHealthcare/Optum - Medicaid in Virginia.
I help the patient recognize unhelpful or self-defeating behaviors and provide strategies to modify or replace them with more adaptive ones.
Your unconscious thoughts, emotions, and early life experiences significantly shape your behavior and mental health. The aim is to uncover repressed or hidden thoughts, feelings, and memories that may contribute to emotional and psychological difficulties. Patients aim to gain insight and self-awareness about their inner conflicts, motivations, and desires. This insight can lead to personal growth and emotional healing. The effectiveness of psychoanalytic therapy can vary from person to person, and it may not be the best fit for everyone.
