My greatest strength as a therapist is my deep passion for mental health and the human experience. I bring a culturally sensitive and trauma informed approach to honor each client's unique background and story. My commitment to helping clients understand themselves and also build self-compassion so they can navigate life with a greater understanding, strength, and acceptance.
I feel most called to work with first-generation or first-and-only Latinx/Latine individuals as well as those who are first in their family or culture to navigate many systems. I specialist in supporting clients who are balancing cultural expectations while exploring their own identity and seeking tools for emotional well-being.
In my clinical practice I help patients identify thoughts that are impacting them, and help them recognize the influence that thoughts have on our emotions and behaviors. My clients learn to navigate challenging thoughts, and become empowered to change their thinking .
I support my clients in exploring underlying patterns, connecting the past to present, and I empower them to see how they can take control by allowing clients to recognize they have agency.
It's really important to me to use a culturally sensitive treatment method to help recognize , respect and validate each clients unique cultural background, traditions, and lived experiences. I enjoy working with my client to understand how cultural identity, traditions, language and systemic factors impact the client's worldview.
