My name is Mark, and I have dedicated more than 15 years to working with families and youth in the foster care system. Before entering the field of foster care, I served as a combat medic in the military. This experience shaped my commitment to helping others and laid the foundation for my career. I have always been drawn to roles where I can make a positive impact on others’ lives. Helping people has become my true passion. In all my work, I strive to share joy and compassion, centering my approach on the unique needs of each individual I support.
During our first session, I'll be conducting an "intake assessment," which will take up most of our time together. This assessment will help us better understand what brings you to therapy and create a plan tailored to your individual needs.
I’ve spent years working with clients involved with Child Protective Services, navigating the challenges of trauma and complex cases. I hold a strong belief in hope, hard work, and offering unconditional positive regard to everyone I work with. Every day brings a new chance to improve our situations. I’ve worked with families, youth, couples, and individuals from diverse backgrounds who have taken steps toward wellness and bettering their lives. My work extends to the Military Community, Law Enforcement, First Responders, CEOs, the LGBTQ community, and fellow Clinicians seeking therapy.
I am currently offering therapy sessions for individuals only. I am fluent in English and do not speak other languages. At this time, I am not seeing couples. While I accept various types of insurance, I do not take Anthem or Blue Cross/Blue Shield. For those interested, I also provide a cash pay option for accessing my services.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
SFBT is based on positive psychology principles and practices, and it's designed to help clients change by exploring their current resources and future hopes. The goal is to help clients use their strengths to achieve their goals and look forward to the future.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
The therapist's role is to provide a space conducive to uncensored self-exploration. As the client explores their feelings, they will gain a clearer perception of themselves, leading to psychological growth. The therapist attempts to increase the client's self-understanding by reflecting and carefully clarifying questions.
