I tailor my approaches to my clients, providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment.
First session
I like to begin sessions by going over informed consent and confidentiality. I like to gather information about their current symptoms and stressors. I will also ask about their psychosocial history and assess for any safety risks. This helps me tailor my treatment plan to every individual client.
Strengths
I was taught to provide therapy using a Rogerian client centered therapy that revolves around unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence. I meet my clients where they are, walking alongside them on their healing journey.
Ideal clients
I love working with clients of all walks of life who need support in building skills to become their own therapists. I work a lot with anxiety, depression, trauma and attachment struggles.
Treatment methods
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I run a psychoeducational group on DBT. I use a lot of psychoeducation and worksheets to provide support as well.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
I have been trained in Prolonged Exposure and will continue to work on furthering my knowledge. I am currently practicing PE with patients who have found it incredibly helpful in decreasing trauma symptoms.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use a trauma informed lens when using CBT. I use a lot of psychoeducation and worksheets to provide support as well.
Somatic
I like to use meditation and movement in sessions to move stagnant thoughts and emotions.
Trauma-Informed Care
I was trained since graduate school to provide trauma informed care, looking at the different systems and identities that intersect.
