Hello, I'm Dr. Elliott Lacki and I am a licensed psychologist in Connecticut. I am credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology from American University in Washington, D.C., and my Master’s degree and Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree in clinical psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. I completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, and an APA-accredited postdoctoral residency in primary care psychology at Community Health Center, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center with locations across Connecticut. I have experience working with individuals across the lifespan in a multitude of settings, including schools, general and psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, a neuropsychology private practice, and primary care/medical clinics. My clinical interests include health psychology (lifestyle modification and coping with chronic medical conditions), person-centered therapy, stress management, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. In my free time, I enjoy biking, kayaking, weightlifting, following the Boston Red Sox, and spending time with friends and family.
In your first therapy session with me, you can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where you'll have the space to share at your own pace. We'll start by getting to know each other, discussing your reasons for seeking therapy, and exploring your goals. You'll be asked some questions about your background, current challenges, and any past experiences that may help guide our work together. This first session is about building trust and setting the foundation for your therapeutic journey. You are encouraged to ask any questions you may have, and together, we'll decide on a path forward that feels right for you. Most importantly, the pace is entirely yours, as you're in control of the process!
As a psychologist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for my clients. I listen carefully and offer thoughtful, compassionate responses that foster trust and openness. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each person while integrating different therapeutic techniques to help you navigate your challenges. My commitment to understanding your personal experiences and fostering a collaborative relationships allows us to work together toward meaningful, lasting change. I am passionate about empowering clients to build resilience, cultivate self-awareness, and achieve their personal goals.
My ideal clients are those who are open to self-exploration and personal growth. They may be facing a specific challenge, such as anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or life transitions, or simply seeking personal development and emotional balance. I am eager to work with those who are ready to engage in meaningful dialogue, work through difficult emotions, and committed to create positive change in their lives. Whether they are looking for support, understanding, or tools to navigate life's complexities, they value the therapeutic process and are willing to invest in their mental and emotional well-being.

Person-centered (Rogerian)
This approach designed to foster self-actualization through a non-judgmental, empathic therapeutic relationship. Clients tend to guide the session while the therapist uses active listening and unconditional positive regard to help explore emotions, overcome personal obstacles, and achieve growth and well-being.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-based therapy integrates mindfulness practices into traditional therapeutic techniques to help individuals manage and reduce psychological distress. The goal is to help people develop greater awareness of their thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, and to cultivate a more accepting and non-judgmental attitude toward these experiences.
