During the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and structured environment designed to promote trust, understanding, and openness. The session focuses on creating a safe space for my clients to express their perspectives, emotions, and goals for counseling without judgment or interruption. I emphasize the importance of teamwork and shared accountability in the therapeutic process. I encourage clients to describe the strengths as well as the challenges that brought them to therapy. The goal of the initial meeting is to begin building insight, clarity, and a foundation for collaborative growth.
As a Professional Counselor, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy techniques. In family therapy, I am well-positioned to help parents, caregivers, and children who are experiencing communication breakdowns, behavioral concerns, co-parenting conflict, blended family challenges, or struggles with trust and respect within the home.
