I’m a therapist with a passion for helping people navigate the challenges of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and addiction. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside clients in community mental health centers, academic medical settings, and private practice, supporting them as they heal, grow, and discover what’s possible for their lives. I am also deeply passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge—I’ve taught college courses on addiction treatment and have led trainings for other therapists on how to provide effective, compassionate care. I earned my graduate degree from the University of Chicago. When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me enjoying a good book, trying out a new recipe, or enjoying quiet moments with my spouse and our two cats.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the initial 60-minute session, we will discuss your reasons for coming to therapy in greater detail. I will ask questions about your life experiences, background, and the challenges that brought you to therapy. We will discuss these challenges, ensure that we have a shared understanding of path forward, and create a treatment plan - the roadmap for our work together. While the treatment plan is established during the initial appointment, it is a flexible and living document that can be updated at any point during the therapy process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Whether you are struggling with sadness, worry, work-related stress, substance use issues, relationship difficulties, or emotions resulting from traumatic experience(s), I offer a supportive ear and a nonjudgmental environment in which we can work together to identify and implement strategies to move you toward your goals. I strive to assist clients in fully exploring their emotions in an environment characterized by compassion, acceptance, and safety.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in the treatment of adults who are struggling with mood disorders (e.g. anxiety, depression), trauma/PTSD, and substance use challenges.

This was my very first therapy appointment and I was overall happy with how it turned out. I was able to feel very open and feel like I can talk about everything that’s going on.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a powerful, evidence-based approach that helps you embrace your thoughts and feelings while focusing on what truly matters to you. By learning to accept difficult emotions and commit to values-driven actions, ACT empowers you to build a fulfilling life despite challenges. Discover greater psychological flexibility, reduce stress, and enhance your overall well-being with ACT’s practical, mindful strategies tailored to your unique needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, for my entire career. CBT is backed by more research than perhaps any other therapy, and has been proven to be an effective therapy for a wide variety of life challenges. In my practice, I empower my clients to explore the ways in which their thoughts and behaviors contribute to emotional experience and make meaningful changes.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I have extensive training and experience in the use of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) having spent years in a trauma treatment program housed in an academic medical center. CPT is the gold standard of treatment for PTSD. Through CPT, clients are able to take back their lives from trauma and find recovery.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I often use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in my work because it offers a dynamic, evidence-based approach that is designed to help individuals manage intense emotions and improve relationships. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness practices while building capacity for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, DBT offers practical tools to build a balanced, meaningful life while fostering greater emotional resilience and connection.
