Meet Joy and begin building a “New Passageway” toward healing. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, and I work with individuals across the lifespan. Each person’s journey is unique, and my role is to support you in finding what works best for you, as healing is not universal. In our work together, I provide a safe and supportive space where we can examine your thoughts, emotions, and sense of self. My approach combines evidence-based approach with careful listening, clinical experience, and intuition. Together, we will create a treatment plan that will help us achieve your goals.

My background includes experience in home health, skilled nursing, correctional care, inpatient psychiatry, and outpatient settings.

My background includes experience in home health, skilled nursing, correctional care, inpatient psychiatry, and outpatient settings. These experiences have shaped my holistic view of care and my commitment to treating the whole person with compassion and respect. Through my practice, New Passageway Healing and Health Center, I am dedicated to helping you better understand yourself and move forward with confidence and clarity.

First session

Our first session is focused on getting to know you and building a trusting relationship. I will endeavor to understand your concerns, your experiences, and what you hope to gain from care. Together, we will begin identifying your goals create a framework for a plan that feels right for you. My priority is for you to feel heard, respected, and supported from the very beginning. You can expect a calm, open environment where you can share at your own pace.

Strengths

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions: I bring a nonjudgmental, empathetic, and compassionate approach to every session. I am mindful of the courage it takes to seek support. Hence, I strive to create a space where you feel safe to share with confidence. I value collaboration and will work closely with you to develop a care plan that reflects your own needs, culture, and life experiences.

Ideal clients

Everyone is unique and shared decision making helps me to serve clients better. Clients are not generic and every client is ideal in their own uniqueness. Building a new passageway to healing and health by utilizing open communication to understand patient needs and concerns requires individualized patient care and care plan. Goals will be mutually established according to clients needs.
