I earned my MSW from Smith College in 2004. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. I have been working as both a therapist and advocate for social justice for two decades. I am trained and experienced in trauma-informed care and have been working with children and adult trauma survivors since the beginning of my career. Providing psycho-education and teaching tools/strategies for clients with anxiety, mood disorders, distorted thinking patterns, and relational conflict are also specialties. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner and understand the unique needs of the LGBTQ+ community and their families. Providing a safe space where clients feel seen and heard without judgment is always my priority throughout the process.
Expect to come away from the first session with: *An action plan for moving forward *Increased hopefulness *At least one new coping skill to use during times of emotional discomfort Long term: * Relief from emotional burdens *A strong skill set and tools to help manage stress and anxiety when it arises *A sense of zest and empowerment to continue the journey of self-discovery
Therapeutic methods and tools center around trauma-informed care, mindfulness practice, a strengths/resilience-based perspective, and an overall relational approach.
My biggest strength is creating authentic relationships and connections with all types of clients. I meet clients wherever they are in their journey of healing and self-exploration. I commit to getting clients where they want to be. Utilizing humor and shared laughter is something I value very much in the therapy space. I utilize a trauma-informed, strength-based, resilience-focused approach. My theoretical framework is firmly grounded in psychodynamics.
