Hello, I am Donna. I am a licesnsed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have 19 years of experience and specialize in helping others break free from the chains of addictions, negative thoughts and behaviors. I am trained in CBT, DBT and I use an interpersonal approach. I also offer Spiritual and Christian Counseling if that is something you would like to include in the therapy sessions.
Our first session would be more of getting to know one another. Think of it as a conversation and seeing if it's a good fit. I provide a safe, non-judgmental approach where healing can grow. I am a great listener and love hearing people's stories. I would love to hear yours and seeing how I can help. I offer both Telehealth and in-person appointments. I am really looking forward to working with you!
The therapeutic relationship is very important. I like to establish rapport and trust with you. This is the foundation for healing and growth to happen. From there, I encorporate different therapy models such as Dialetical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Internal Family Systems. Everyone is different, so not one particualr model works for everyone. I listen to the needs of the client and then go from there. We will discuss what is working for you, and what's not. I value the needs of the client because this is your time for healing and growth!
If you are struggling with family conflict, anxiety, depression or any kind of addiction, I would love to help you. I have worked for non-profits including a groups home for teenage girls, a jail-diversion program and a retreat center for people in recovery from drugs and alcohol. My 19 years of working with different populations has allowed me to understand each person and where they are coming from. Every situation is unique and different.
Christian Counseling
I use Christian Counseling if clients want it in therapy and see where God is working in their life and how He can help heal wounds from the past and present/relationships. I also use DBT and CBT in therapy, as well as Narrative therapy.
