(she/her)
Hi, I’m Courtney, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with people who are tired of just “coping” and want to understand themselves on a deeper level. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, stuck in painful relationship patterns, or disconnected from who they used to be. Together, we slow things down, make sense of your story, and create space for real healing and lasting change.
The first session is simply a conversation. You don’t need to have the right words or a perfect timeline of your life. I’ll ask some gentle questions to understand what’s been weighing on you and what you’re hoping will feel different. Most importantly, you’ll get a sense of how it feels to talk with me. Therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and comfortable being yourself.
I focus deeply on the therapeutic relationship because that’s where real change happens. I pay attention to patterns, like how you relate to others, how you respond to stress, and how past experiences may still be shaping your emotions today. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and practical. We’ll build insight, but we’ll also work on skills to help you feel more grounded, confident, and emotionally steady in your everyday life.
I specialize in working with moms and parents, especially those navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or the emotional weight of trying to hold everything together for everyone else. I also work with individuals healing from trauma (PTSD or complex trauma) and people who feel stuck in anxiety, overwhelm, or relationship struggles. I work best with clients who are ready to look inward with curiosity and compassion. If you’re someone who’s ready break old patterns and build a more peaceful relationship with yourself and others, we’ll likely be a good fit.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT helps us understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be increasing anxiety, self-doubt, or overwhelm, and replace them with more balanced, supportive ways of thinking. I use CBT in a practical way, offering tools and strategies you can use in your daily life to feel more grounded, confident, and in control.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic work focuses on understanding how past experiences and early relationships may still be influencing your emotions, reactions, and relationship patterns today. Together, we’ll explore the deeper roots of what you’re feeling so that long-standing patterns can begin to shift. This approach is especially helpful if you find yourself repeating the same struggles or feeling stuck without fully understanding why.
Relational
I believe healing happens in the context of safe and meaningful connection. Relational therapy focuses on how you experience relationships, both with others and with yourself. We’ll pay attention to patterns that show up in your life and sometimes even within our work together. By building a trusting therapeutic relationship, you can develop new ways of relating that feel more secure, authentic, and fulfilling.
