Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) and I live in Connecticut. I have a Masters degree from the University of St. Joseph and I have been a therapist for 15 years. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults with ADHD who may have suffered trauma, as well as clients who have experienced loss in their life, as well as anxiety and depression. I am a trained EMDR therapist and I use EMDR to help clients address long held or extreme trauma. I am also trained in the treatment of family issues and domestic violence.
At your first session with me I'll introduce myself and we'll talk about what your specific personal goals for therapy are. From this, I can create a treatment plan designed especially for you.
The name of my practice is "Crazy Good Therapy", and the name was given to me by one of my former clients. I use humor and open mindedness in my relationships with my clients. We will move at your pace, and you'll share your story as you are comfortable doing so.
My dream clients are people who are serious about making positive change in their lives to become the best they can be. I am looking for clients who are willing to do the work and reap the joy of creating a better life for themselves. I believe we are all influenced in many ways throughout the lifespan and these influences affect our journey. I want to help clients navigate the painful and uncertain parts of their journey.
Motivational Interviewing uses reflection and active listening as the foundation for treatment. I will endeavor to help you answer questions you are asking yourself about where to go next on your personal journey.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective treatment for PTSD and trauma. I also may incorporate EMDR when treating ADHD as many people with ADHD not diagnosed until later in life may have experienced many kinds of trauma.
