Nicole Widman
Nicole Widman is the founder of Eden Therapy Group, a private practice based out of Southern California that functions to heal, restore and equip God’s sons and daughters.
I specialize in equipping those who feel deeply — the sensitive, intuitive, and empathetic — who often feel overwhelmed or stuck in their thoughts and emotions.
I operate from a deep conviction to raise up men and women who are led by the Spirit by creating a space for my clients to discern God's voice and encounter God’s transformative love.
First session
In our first session, you can expect to discuss what is heaviest on your heart, and the vision you have for your life so we can prayerfully strategize how to walk beside you to experience all that God has for you! My practice is an intentional partnership with the Holy Spirit, where sound clinical wisdom submits to God’s leading, creating room for Jesus to enter places of trauma and emotional wounds, bringing freedom, clarity and truth. Here, you will experience breakthrough and equipping in God’s perfect timing as we are invited to listen, respond, and be transformed by His love for you.

Ideal clients
I work with clients that are desperate for the freedom that is promised in Jesus and longing to know their identity as a son or daughter. My clients not only want healing, but they also want to walk out ongoing transformation. These clients include, but are not limited to Christians that long for more but are not sure how to get there or have exhausted all of their efforts, the ones that have been told they’re crazy or oversensitive--feelers, the thinkers, the ones that have a deep conviction to separate from the world but are looking for acceptance and belonging and Christians that want to grow in their relationship with the Lord but are burnt out by religion.
Treatment methods
Trauma-Focused CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on thought work. Through trauma-informed, faith-integrated CBT, we will focus on on of the core components of my practice — the mind of christ — where we will work to identify old and hurtful thought patterns so you may experience a mind renewed (Romans 12, 2 Corinthians 3).
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of traumatic life experiences. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. For more information on our faith-perspective of EMDR please read: “Integrating Psychological Healing with Spiritual Healing: EMDR with Inner Healing Prayer” by Elizabeth M. Heuertz, M.A. & Christopher L. Sperling, M.A.
Faith based therapy
We have found that most effective therapy is when it aligns with the Word of God and is led by the Holy Spirit because Jesus is the Healer, Deliverer, Great Counselor, Lover and Prince of Peace. We have witnessed narratives powerfully redeemed and symptoms powerfully healed, bearing witness to the transformative reality of God's love for His children. This makes faith-based therapy the foundation of our work. We believe that Jesus didn't come for the righteous but for the ones that know they are sick and need Him. In other words, He didn’t come for the ones that think they have it all together, He comes for the ones that are desperate and admit-tingly need help. This gives us hope.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotions are a big piece of the work we do. Many of our clients are highly emotional beings. Through faith-integrated EFT, we help clients identify what they are feeling according to the Spirit so they may experience emotions that nurture emotional connection with God and others, and learn to steward their emotions well.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic therapy acknowledges that we respond to circumstances based past thoughts and memories that we might not be fully aware of. Through connection with God, help our clients bring awareness to these patterns and the strategies that we have learned to cope with so that there may be healing as we receive a revelation of Jesus in those areas of our lives.
