I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Graduated from North Carolina State University with my Masters in Social Work. I always tell people having the right rapport with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy. This is your time to process difficult things and I want you to feel comfortable. The first session we will be getting to know each other and you will be deciding if I am a good "fit" for your therapy needs.
My greatest strengths are being empathetic and non-judgmental. We all have fell on difficult times and that's ok. You will be in "judgment free" zone during our sessions.
I love working with adults that have goals and dreams and although they may reach some of them, their mental health symptoms sometimes interfere in their full potential. I want to work with you to achieve the best life in spite of your mental health struggles.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy was what inspired me to become a Therapist. Although I am "pro-medication," it is a small piece of winning the battle created in our mind. I have been using CBT in my practice for the past four years. It has helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their depression and anxiety. We will use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We will then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns which will assist in your overall feelings of well-being.
No one understands grief until they have gone through it. There are resources available to help you through this difficult time and I am available to walk you through and help you process your grief.
You are the expert of your situation and Motivational Interviewing will assist with helping you discover where you are in the healing phase.
