I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) based in Washington County, MD, working with patients via telehealth. I work with adolescents and adults who need assistance managing mental health symptoms to improve the quality of their lives. I started as a counselor in 2004 fresh out of graduate school. I focused on substance use disorders for many years and wanted to become more skilled in working with dual-diagnosis patients. I now enjoy working with patients with many different diagnoses on their journey of wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Patients can expect the time and comfortability to share what is most important to them in allowing me to get to know them and help them on their journey to a better life.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I create a warm and welcoming environment that is free from judgment. I encourage all patients to be honest, open, and motivated to become the best version of themselves.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My approach to therapy is one from an overall wellness point of view. I enjoy working with patients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, mood disorders, and more. I am well-versed in CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and many others.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I utilize this treatment method to help patients accept that whatever they are feeling is valid and they can learn to adapt and grow despite what may be happening in their lives.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This treatment method is used to assist patients in identifying, challenging, and changing negative perceptions of themselves or unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I love using DBT to assist patients in learning the skills to manage more intense emotions to improve their interpersonal relationships and avoid self destructive behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used MI for many years while helping patients who suffer from addiction. It is a great way to strengthen motivation for change and increase commitment for a better quality of life.
