Hey there, it's good to see you today. It looks like you're reaching out for help and that's a wonderful first step. Whatever curveballs life has thrown your way, I’m here to help you work through this. I normalize parenting struggles, support medical and other mental health professionals struggling to cope, and specialize in individuals who have experienced trauma. I will be honest and respectful of your lived experiences. We can work together on navigating the complexities of life while building your skills to tackle current and future challenges. My job is to put myself out of a job! Let’s get you the skills you need to not need me anymore. Therapy is wonderful and terrifying and for most folks - temporary. We can get through this part together, and I will welcome you back should you have a need for me again. So, let’s get started, shall we?

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is all about getting to know you. What brought you here today? Why now? What are your goals? And - most importantly - to make sure you and I are a good fit for each other. This has to be a collaborative decision, it's important that you believe this is a good match. We will go through the basics of your initial intake questions and get a basic plan laid out of what to focus on first.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths include working with diverse populations including other mental health professionals (healer, heal thyself), medical professionals, trauma survivors, and LGBTQIA+ populations including gender identity. I also work with alternative lifestyles including polyamory, BDSM, kink, and the leather community.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Trying to conceive, fertility challenges, pregnant, post-partum, and parenting concerns: let's talk about it. Having a baby comes with many changes, challenges, and joys. Whether it's the baby blues, anxiety, trouble bonding with baby, parent guilt, birth trauma, fertility struggles, or pregnancy loss this is a judgement-free space to get in to the nitty gritty or being a parent. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people involved in ethical non-monogamy/polyamory, practitioners of diverse religious backgrounds: Have you been avoiding therapy because you were worried about finding a good fit? You’re safe here, you matter here, your experiences are valid here.

My treatment methods

Forensic Psychology

I have worked extensively with justice-involved populations. A fundamental knowledge of courts, jails, and prisons helps remove barriers for individuals seeking assistance with current or prior involvement with the criminal justice system.

Trauma Informed Care

Many current concerns wind up being connected to past trauma. Viewing experiences through a trauma-informed focus opens additional opportunities for healing.

Motivational Interviewing

This technique encourages counselors to meet the patient where they are at, work collaboratively with the patient on their goals, and guide the patient through the process of change.

Gender-affirming therapy

Did you know that simply addressing an individual with their stated pronouns reduces suicidal ideation? If you didn't before, now you do! You know who you are, I'm here to support you wherever you are in your process.

Psychoeducation

We don't know what we don't know - and once we identify an opportunity to know more about your mental health, I'm happy to help find education and resources for you to learn more.
