New to Grow
Hi there! My name is Jade and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in California. I am also licensed to provide Telehealth therapy to individuals in Idaho and Florida. I have worked in a variety of settings including higher levels of care and correctional settings prior to starting my own private practice in 2024. I specialize in treating adults who are struggling with anxiety and stress management, ADHD, gender identity and sexuality, self-esteem, body image and eating disorders. I'd love to connect!
During the first session, I prioritize building a strong therapeutic connection and creating a space where clients feel comfortable, heard, and respected. I believe that establishing good rapport is an essential foundation for meaningful growth and positive change, and that finding the right therapeutic fit is an important part of the process. Rather than approaching the intake as a checklist of required questions, I strive to make our initial session feel conversational and collaborative. While I will gather information about your background, current concerns, and goals, I also encourage you to use this time to get a sense of the therapeutic space and determine whether it feels like the right fit for your needs. During our first meeting, I will share more about my therapeutic approach and answer any questions you may have about the counseling process. My work extends beyond traditional talk therapy by focusing on practical, attainable goals and fostering accountability in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. Together, we will begin identifying the areas of your life you would like to address and develop a path forward that aligns with your values and goals. Above all, my goal is for you to feel supported, empowered, and hopeful about the work we can do together. I hope you can leave the first session recognizing that you are capable and I am here to help!
My professional experiences have allowed me to work with a diverse range of individuals across multiple levels of care, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, correctional settings, and private practice. I earned my Master's degree in Forensic Psychology, which provided me with a strong foundation in understanding human behavior, mental health, and the complex factors that influence personal growth and change. In addition to my professional background, I understand on a personal level that seeking help and support can be challenging. It is something I have struggled with myself, and that experience has strengthened my appreciation for the courage it takes to reach out and begin the therapeutic process. I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, respected, and understood. These experiences have taught me that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I enjoy helping clients develop practical skills they can apply in their daily lives, with a focus on creating meaningful and lasting change rather than simply discussing problems. My goal is to empower clients with tools, insight, and strategies that support their progress both inside and outside of sessions. When it comes to my therapeutic style, I believe there is a time to provide space for reflection and a time to gently challenge patterns that may be preventing growth. I tailor my approach to each individual's unique needs, goals, and readiness for change. As a therapist who applies a solution-focused approach, I have see the benefits of direct feedback and accountability. Ultimately, I work collaboratively with each client to create a therapeutic experience that feels both supportive and productive, helping them move toward their goals with confidence and self-awareness.
I work with adults who desire to understand themselves, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. If you are struggling with anxiety, stress, self-esteem concerns, sexuality and identity exploration, eating disorders, or body image issues, I would be honored to support you on your journey. As your therapist, I strive to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside my clients to establish realistic, attainable goals that align with their values and vision for their lives. My approach combines compassion with accountability. I will listen with empathy, challenge unhelpful patterns when appropriate, and empower you to recognize your strengths and resilience. Whether you're seeking support through a difficult life transition, working toward recovery from an eating disorder, exploring aspects of your identity, or learning to manage anxiety and stress more effectively, I am committed to helping you build the skills and confidence needed to create lasting change. My goal is not only to help you feel better in the moment, but to equip you with practical tools and insights that foster long-term emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self. If you're looking for a therapist who will support, encourage, and challenge you in a compassionate way, I would love to connect with you.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have applied CBT in a variety of settings and it is one of the primary treatment approaches I use in practice today. CBT is evidence-based treatment and I believe in the power of this approach. I work collaboratively with clients to explore the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we identify cognitive distortions, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop practical coping strategies. Sessions often involve setting specific goals, reviewing recent experiences, identifying thoughts, and practicing skills that clients can apply in their daily lives.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have provided DBT in a variety of settings, including higher levels of care providing individual therapy and group therapy. I enjoy applying DBT because it's practical and skills-based nature. Clients gain concrete tools that can be applied immediately in everyday life, helping them increase emotional stability, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. I desire to provide support and accountability as clients learn to manage distress more effectively and create lasting positive change.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I began applying this type of treatment in group practice approximately 6 years ago. This approach is highly collaborative, empowering and future-focused, which is effective to help clients experience long-term relief. I use techniques such as the miracle question and goal-setting exercises to help clients envision desired outcomes and identify achievable actions. By concentrating on solutions rather than problems, clients often experience increased hope, confidence, and motivation to make positive changes.
Motivational Interviewing
I apply motivational interviewing in my practice, as this approach focuses on respecting client autonomy. I utilize MI techniques such as open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and summarizing to help clients gain insight into their motivations and goals. By creating a supportive and non-confrontational environment, clients are often more willing to engage in honest self-reflection and consider meaningful changes.
