Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Truckee, California. I earned my Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2005, and I’ve had the privilege of practicing as a therapist since 2023. I specialize in supporting teens and adults through challenges like anxiety, depression, stress, and the complexities that come with work, life, and school. My approach combines a number of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and compassionate inquiry, creating a space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on for you, uncover your strengths, and work toward the life you want, with care and understanding every step of the way.
In our first session together, we’ll take the time to explore what’s bringing you to therapy and what you hope to achieve through our work together. We’ll talk about your goals and reflect on the strategies you’ve tried in the past—what’s worked and what hasn’t. This session is a chance for us to get to know each other and build a foundation of trust, so we can create a path forward that feels right for you. My goal is to make this a space where you feel heard and supported, and together, we’ll figure out how to collaborate effectively toward the outcomes that matter most to you.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I believe in offering compassionate challenge when needed, so you can grow and move toward lasting change. Authenticity is at the heart of my practice—both in how I show up for you and in encouraging you to bring your full, genuine self into our work together. I’m committed to walking alongside you as we explore and create the changes you’re seeking with care, respect, and openness.
The clients I work best with are those who approach therapy with curiosity and an open heart. You’re someone who’s willing to take a step back and gently observe your patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and actions—looking for what might no longer be serving you. You’re open to making small, lasting changes, and ready to take responsibility for your own growth, knowing that the journey may be challenging at times, but ultimately rewarding. If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you in creating meaningful, lasting change on your path.
In my work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I support individuals in learning how to gently make space for their thoughts and emotions, rather than getting caught up in struggling with them. Instead of fighting anxiety or trying to avoid it, ACT helps us turn toward what really matters—taking steps, even small ones, toward the kind of life we truly want. It’s about discovering freedom through acceptance, building psychological flexibility, and living in alignment with your values—even in the presence of worry or fear.
Mindfulness is a gentle thread woven through all of the approaches I use in therapy. It offers a way to be present with whatever is showing up—thoughts, emotions, or challenges—without judgment or shame. By creating space for our inner experiences, mindfulness can help increase self-awareness, reduce stress, support emotional balance, improve focus, and nurture a deeper sense of self-compassion. It’s a powerful practice that invites us to meet and talk to ourselves with more kindness.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is another approach I use to gently support clients who may feel stuck or unsure about making changes. It’s a collaborative, non-judgmental way of exploring what really matters to you, helping to clarify your own reasons for change. Rather than pushing or prescribing, MI honors your autonomy and empowers you to move forward at your own pace—guided by your values and inner motivation.
