My areas of focus include anxiety, grief, depression, divorce, trauma, family conflict, relationship issues, school challenges, military family experiences, and LGBTQ concerns.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have utilized an eclectic approach throughout my career. One of those approaches is CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). With this I have used interventions that are practical techniques to change negative thought patterns and behaviors, focusing on the link between thoughts, feelings, and actions, using tools like Cognitive Restructuring (challenging distortions), Exposure Therapy (facing fears), Behavioral Activation (doing positive activities), and Relaxation Techniques (breathing, mindfulness) to help manage anxiety, depression, and other issues. I attempt to guide my clients to identify unhelpful cycles and develop more realistic, effective ways to cope with life's challenges.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I have utilized an eclectic approach throughout my career. One of those approaches is Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). This approach uses future-focused, strengths-based interventions like the Miracle Question, Scaling Questions, and Exception Questions to help clients identify solutions, build on existing successes, and envision a better future, moving away from deep problem exploration to practical, short-term change.
Motivational Interviewing
I have utilized an eclectic approach throughout my career. One of those approaches is motivational interviewing (MI). With this I use open questions to evoke “change talk”, paired with reflective listening to build discrepancy and resolve ambivalence. Additionally, I use affirmations to build confidence and collaboratively explore solutions, to empower clients to find their own path to change.
Psychoeducation
I have utilized an eclectic approach throughout my career. One of those approaches being Psychoeducation. This mode involves teaching clients about their mental health, treatment, and coping skills to reduce anxiety, improve adherence, and build resilience, such as explaining the fight-or-flight response during panic attacks or providing tools like mindfulness to manage symptoms between sessions. With this I can clarify diagnoses, correct misconceptions, and empower individuals to understand their internal experiences.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I have utilized Person Centered (Rogerian) therapy in treatment throughout my career. With the use of this mod, I use active listening to reflect feelings and offer unconditional positive regard, validating the client to build a safe space, empowering the client to lead the session and discover their own solutions through self-exploration rather than direct advice.

Was looking for a therapist who I could connect with on a personal level, someone who would hear me and understand me, and Valeh is that person. She’s real, direct, no bs. Definitely feel like I hit the jackpot and I’m excited to continue my therapy journey with her given her extensive knowledge in the field.
