(she/her)
Hi, I’m Johanna! I’m a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I provide individual therapy for adults across California with support that is genuine, collaborative, and grounded in cultural awareness. As a Latina therapist, I’m especially passionate about supporting first-generation and BIPOC individuals navigating anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in meaningful, real conversation, creating a space where you can reflect, heal, and grow. I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges. My therapeutic style integrates mindfulness, CBT, and person-centered approaches, helping clients deepen self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and build more fulfilling connections. I believe meaningful change begins when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported on your path to healing.
In our first session together, we’ll start with a brief introduction and discuss what brought you to therapy. We’ll explore your current challenges, goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get a sense of my style and approach. From there, we’ll begin developing a plan tailored to your needs, so you can feel supported and confident moving forward.
I believe in the power of authenticity in the therapeutic process. I show up as my genuine self and create a space where you can do the same. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, and I don’t shy away from difficult conversations. Instead, I bring a transparent, compassionate, and respectful presence that helps build trust and meaningful connection. This foundation allows you to engage more fully in therapy, gain insight, and feel safe showing up as your true self. My goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and supported while developing the clarity and tools needed to move forward.
I work best with adults who are navigating anxiety, intergenerational trauma, major life transitions, or feelings of burnout, and who feel like they don’t yet have the tools to manage their emotions or life’s challenges. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or impacted by past experiences that haven’t been fully processed, making everyday situations feel more difficult. Even with these challenges, you are motivated for change and ready to engage in the work of personal growth.

I identify as
Integrative
Although I am nationally certified as a CBT therapist, I tend to lean more towards an Integrative method of treatment. By merging elements of different theories, I can often offer a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment depending on your individual needs and goals.

She is a great listener but also doesn’t let you just talk in circles. She explains why things happen and gives you tools to use in your daily life. She is also down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. I had almost given up on therapy but Johanna definitely has changed my mind.
