Nosa Osazuwa
Hello, I'm Nosa Osazuwa, a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing holistic, patient-centered, and evidence-based care. I began my healthcare career in 2010, and my passion for closing gaps in mental health services led me to specialize in psychiatry, with a focus on improving access to compassionate, high-quality care. I work with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and respect; ensuring you feel heard, valued, and involved in your care.
First session
Your first visit is a supportive and collaborative assessment designed to understand you as a whole person, not just the symptoms you are experiencing. We will talk about your current concerns, personal history, and treatment goals, review evidence-based options, and work together to create a care plan that fits your individual needs. My goal is to provide a calm, respectful, nonjudgmental, and culturally sensitive space where you feel heard, valued, and actively involved in your treatment decisions.
Strengths
I bring a calm, compassionate, and practical approach to each session. My strengths include active listening, cultural awareness, clinical experience, and the ability to help clients feel safe, respected, and understood. I focus on the whole person, not just the symptoms, and work with clients to create realistic goals and treatment plans that fit their needs. My approach stands out because I combine evidence-based care with genuine empathy, collaboration, and respect for each client’s unique story.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves, improve their mental health, and make meaningful changes in their life. I am best positioned to serve clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, or difficulty managing emotions. I work well with clients who may feel stuck but are open to support, learning new coping skills, and taking small steps toward healing, balance, and personal growth.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT by helping clients notice the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In sessions, we work together to identify negative or unhelpful thoughts, challenge them in a supportive way, and replace them with healthier ways of thinking and coping.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients talk through changes they may be thinking about making. I provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore what matters to them, what may be holding them back, and what steps feel realistic. My goal is to help clients build confidence and make choices that fit their personal goals.
