I work with clients from various walks of life ages 12 years and older who experience depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, learning disabilities, and relationship as well as emotional difficulties. No matter the reason for seeking therapy--whether to better manage your anxiety or to improve the quality of your relationships with family and friends--you’re taking the first step, and I congratulate you for that because it’s not an easy thing to do.
Clients can expect to have an opportunity to ask any questions that they may have pertaining to treatment. Clients will be asked questions to get a better understanding around what is leading them to seek therapy and some background information. The client will have an opportunity to identify their own goals for treatment.
My biggest strengths are working to create safety plans to ensure you can maintain safety as well as learning what is triggering you. I focus on building off your lagging skills, and support you with learning different skills. Being depressed or anxious should never overpower your life and there are different ways to manage it so that you feel in control again.
I love working with clients that are feeling stuck and need skills to be able to manage life transitions whether they are expected or unexpected. I want to be the person that can guide you on your journey to a better and improved well-being and version of yourself. There is no struggle that should be targeted alone as that can become overwhelming.
The way I use the model is based on what is being reported that is going on and I target the behaviors not the diagnosis per say as the behaviors need to change in order for the client to feel like things are getting better.
Everything is done through the trauma informed lens. This helps provide psychoeducation and be able to access any triggers as well as coping mechanisms that the client already have.
