Hi, I'm Abieyuwa Salami, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, dedicated to helping adults navigate life's challenges with compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care. I provide personalized treatment for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, PMDD, insomnia, and other mental health concerns through Time for Comfort Psychiatry. Taking the first step toward getting help isn't always easy, and I'm glad you're here. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself. Together, we'll work to better understand what's been holding you back and develop a treatment plan that helps you feel more like yourself again.

First session

During our first session, we'll take time to understand your story, discuss what brought you to treatment, review your symptoms and past experiences, and develop a personalized plan that fits your goals and lifestyle. I believe the best treatment is collaborative; you are the expert on your life, and I'm here to provide the tools, education, and guidance to help you feel your best.

Strengths

My approach focuses on treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis. I take time to understand how your physical health, lifestyle, sleep, nutrition, stress, and life experiences may be affecting your mental health. When clinically appropriate, I recommend laboratory testing to identify potential medical contributors to symptoms and discuss evidence-based supplements alongside traditional treatment options. I believe in creating individualized treatment plans rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Clients also appreciate that I prioritize accessibility, collaboration, and education, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and actively involved in their care throughout the treatment process.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with adults who are ready to better understand themselves and take an active role in improving their mental health. Whether you're seeking support for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, PMDD, insomnia, or feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, I'm here to meet you where you are. You don't have to have everything figured out, whether this is your first time seeking care or you're looking for a fresh perspective, we'll work together to create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals and helps you build lasting wellness.

Treatment methods

Supportive

My approach to medication management begins with a thorough psychiatric evaluation and a comprehensive review of your medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, sleep, and any factors that may be contributing to how you're feeling. When clinically appropriate, I may recommend laboratory testing to rule out underlying medical conditions, discuss evidence-based supplements, and collaborate with your other healthcare providers to ensure a well-rounded treatment plan. Rather than simply prescribing medication, I take the time to educate you about your diagnosis, discuss treatment options, monitor your progress closely, and make thoughtful adjustments based on your individual needs and goals. My goal is to provide personalized, comprehensive psychiatric care that supports your overall well-being.
