Regardless of our age, life can be incredibly overwhelming at times. Whether you're 2 or 92, there are going to be times that feel especially overwhelming. I have helped many clients of all ages work through a variety of challenges. Whether it be life changes, anxiety, depression, grief, stress management, addiction recovery or any number of other situations, I am there to help you through. Often in life, we can feel alone and that we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. You are not alone, I'm here to help. Whether you are a parent seeking play therapy for your child, or an adult seeking therapy for yourself, I'm happy to work with all ages.
Our first session will be a get to know you time. I will ask a lot of questions and get a feel of your story and your preferences for therapy. I also welcome you to ask me any and all questions you may have as well.
My specialties are grief and anxiety. I am very compassionate and objective and am able to hold the space and create a safe and caring place for big difficult emotions. Grief is one of the most difficult journeys we make in life, and every loss is unique. Grief has a way of shaking us to the core and making us question our entire sense of self. Anxiety, like grief, creates a battle within, just in a different way. Anxiety tends to make us question our self worth. I am happy to help you through both of these difficult journeys. You aren't in this alone!
I believe that many of our struggles in adulthood began as mistaken beliefs about the world around us in childhood, stemming from our experiences at that time. In identifying and correcting many of these beliefs we are able to help counter a lot of anxiety and depression, as well as self esteem issues that arise in adulthood.
I offer Christian counseling only if requested by the client. I work with people of all faiths and will strive to meet the client with what they need regardless of their religion.
Grief is unfortunately a large part of life that we will all encounter at some point. I do not take a one size fits all approach to grief therapy as I believe that each loss is unique to the relationship we had with that person or animal and the role(s) they played within our life.
I believe you are your own best expert and while I can offer you guidance and support and suggestions, I will never know you better than you know yourself.
